The Wiltshire Conservation & Museums Advisory Service comprises the Objects and Archives Conservation teams.
There are two full time objects conservators who work with a broad spectrum of clients, many with designated collections. The team provide support and advice on all aspects of collections care, to ensure their preservation for the future. Our team have a broad range of experience with materials including archaeological, ethnographic, natural history, social history, ceramics, modern materials including plastics and hazardous materials.
The Objects Conservation laboratory
The Archive Conservation Team consists of one full-time conservator. The conservator is responsible for the conservation and preservation of archival material held within Wiltshire and Swindon Archives and contract projects for private clients.
Archive conservation is the physical repair and stabilisation of damaged material and conservators require expertise in paper and parchment material, maps and plans, photographic material and processes, pendant and applied seals, manuscript book repair and refurbishment.
