Around 60% of this vessel remained and it required extensive investigation. The fill material used was an extremely close match for the original object and it was difficult to tell which was which. Three different fill materials were identified, one of which may even have consisted of ground up pot sherds.

The interior had a layer of dark material that was extremely hard but responded to warm water. It was therefore thought to contain animal glue. The main body fill had a glassy texture. In addition the sherds had been bonded together using a brown wax.

This vessel is part of the collection at Salisbury & South Wilts Museum. It is not currently on display.
